Becca angelo

Becca began her career at an athletic club as a personal trainer and college intern. She received her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in 2016 and is currently a Member Services Manager, group exercise instructor, and personal trainer at Houston's First Baptist Church Fitness Ministry.

Becca believes that faith and fitness are meant to intertwine and create the best you that God calls you to be mentally. Becca is a newlywed to her high school sweetheart who proposed in Texas, and 24 hours later, they got married in Vegas. They both currently work in ministry.




Debbie Brown

Debbie is Nationally recognized as a local church Fitness Ministry expert and respected by all know her.  Debbie is the Associate Director of Fitness & Recreations at Houston's First Baptist Church. She has been directing the Fitness Ministry for 20+ years. Currently she leads a Dynamic Fitness Team of 15, and The Fitness and Recreation Center has over 1600 current members. Debbie enjoys seeing people transformed by realizing that exercise can be fun and that they can achieve their goals & connect with God simultaneously. The facility offers Group Exercise Classes, Personal Training, Small Group Training, a Start Smart Program and many outreach opportunities. Debbie is a former CSRM Board Member and currently serves CSRM as an Associate Director for Fitness Resources and Consulting.  Ministry Debbie is married to Denny. They have a daughter, Jessica who is 30 and a 7-year old granddaughter, Chloe.


Todd Buck

Todd Buck grew up in Murray, KY where much of his time was spent serving his local church and playing school sports. He received a B.S. degree in Business Management and a minor in Youth Ministry from Union University. Todd met his wife Lacey while in college; have been married for 7 years; and are the parents of Blaykley Kate and a little girl due in August. Todd worked in corporate banking for a number of years until called to serve God in full-time ministry. Currently pursuing a Master's degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Todd is seeking to be more deeply prepared to follow God's call directly as Minister of Recreation at Millington FBC where their goal is to connect people to the love of Jesus through the avenue of sports.


Vickie Byler

Vickie is currently a professor at Lancaster Bible College, teaching in the Physical Education and Sport Management programs. She has earned a BS in Physical Education and a M.S.S. and Ed.D in Sport Management. She is married to Scott and the mother of 3 active boys. She has been involved in Christian ministry in education as well as sports ministry since 1981. She has served in a variety of leadership roles including the Chair of the Health and Physical Education Department, a term as the President of the National Christian College Athletic Association and an employee of CSRM. She loves the beach and being outdoors.



Tim Conrad

This summer will be Tim Conrad’s 44th summer in a row where he will be on a field with children teaching them to play particular sports and sharing his love for Christ and building young disciples of Jesus.   In those 44 years he has faced seemingly all the distractions that could possibly keep ministry from happening.  Tim’s award winning sports camp curriculum has been used in 1000’s of churches across the USA and many other countries.



Ken Cross

Ken is on staff with CedeSports as both a Church Coach/Mentor for Sports Ministers and a Sports Chaplain for two collegiate basketball teams. Having pastored for over 40 years, Ken is still preaching every Sunday and is well aware of what it is like to serve in large and small churches. He has one wife, 5 grown children and 5 grandchildren so far! He has also been know to say, "Roll Tide" on occasion. Ken and his wife attend Lakeshore Church, Denver NC where they serve in leadership.


CSRM Director of International Initiatives

A most highly respected leader in the international Sports Outreach Movement (his name is withheld for international security purposes). He has been involved in Sports Outreach Ministry for nearly three decades and lived or ministered in more than 80 countries. His manuals and video training series have been used the world over and has been translated into different languages. In his role with CSRM he currently oversees 6 International Staff and a growing number of Global Network Partners (GNP's). A frequent presenter at REACH, he keeps an energetic international travel schedule but resides in Washington State. His deep passion for equipping the local church to move from activity to ministry has inspired leaders the world over.  While most people get injured playing sports, his major injury in life was when he broke three toes while 'playing' the piano!!



Danny Downing

Danny Downing has been serving at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church since June of 2000 and has a passion to use sports as a tool to reach and disciple people for Jesus Christ. Danny and his wife Linda have four grown children. Besides spending time with his family, Danny enjoys running, camping, tennis and coaching in the community and has coached fast pitch softball and basketball for one of the local middle schools. He is certified as a "Double-Goal" Coach from the Positive Coaching Alliance as well as certified as an administrator by the National Alliance for Youth Sports. One of the most experienced and respected leaders in local church SR&F Outreach Ministry, Downing has served on the CSRM Board of Trustees, including the Board Chair, is considered a mentor by many and a friend by all.


Adam Dunlap

Adam has been heavily involved in the fitness industry for almost a decade. Upon graduating from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s in finance, Adam was hired at The Houstonian Club, a private elite fitness club, as the Youth Program Manager. He was quickly promoted to Fitness Manager where he helped oversee 50+ employees and over 300 pieces of fitness equipment daily. In May of 2017, Adam joined Houston’s First Baptist Church as the Director of the Fitness & Recreation Ministry. Bringing faith and personal wellness together has been a passion of Adam’s for quite a while. He now loves sharing all the knowledge he has learned from The Houstonian but with a Christ-centered focus. Adam has been married to his beautiful Proverbs 31 wife, Amanda, for 5 years. He has 2 children: an amazingly bright and beautiful almost 3 year old girl – Amory, and an awesome, fun, and passionate 4 month old boy – Brooks. Besides his family, Adam’s hobbies are basketball, working out, and the Houston Astros.



Greg English

Greg is currently (2008 - present) the Recreation MInister at Cool Spring Church, Richmond Va. Greg and his wife Kelly have two sons, Tyler married to Rachel and son Brendan attending James Madison University. Greg is the proud grandfather to Asher, daughter of Tyler and Rachel. Greg and his family served internationally in sports ministry where they developed basketball and physical education programs in conjunction with church planting. Greg has served as Chairman of the Board of CSRM and serves on the editorial board of Over Whelming Victory Press. Greg is the co-editor of Sports Ministry that Wins and is an adjunct professor of Sport and Spirituality at Chowan University. Greg enjoys travel, cooking, and living in the heart of the city!




Andrew Fouts

Andrew is the Director of Digital Resources & Church Planter for CSRM in Cleveland, Ohio. He holds a BA in Sports & Youth Ministries as well as a NFHSA endorsement for Coaching and Administration. Currently Andrew divides his time working with CSRM, teaching PE at Parma Heights Christian Academy, Coaching Varsity Basketball at Christian Community School, & doing outreach and discipleship ministry throughout the Cleveland Metro Area with the ultimate goal of planting a church on the west of Cleveland, Ohio.


Jeff Fox

lives in Charlotte NC with his wife Kim and they have two married children who also live in the area. He has been in ministry for more than 30 years and has pastored or served on staff at churches in North Carolina, South Carolina and Connecticut. He has also started a Sports Outreach Ministry at a local church. Jeff has served as a Church Coach and Leadership Director with CEDE Sports for more than five years.



Kane Gonzalez

Kane Gonzalez is Director of Youth and Adult Sports ministries at First Redeemer Church in Cumming, GA. They primarily use youth sports to connect with their community, build relationships, connect them to the church, and have coaches share the good news of Jesus Christ with families every season. Kane has been involved in sports  ministry for 5 years in both the assistant director and director position. He has been married to his wife Joy for 9 years and has two daughters: Maria (7) and Elayne (5). Having been born and raised in Michigan, he enjoys all sports, especially hockey.




Richard Herod

Richard had a 30 year career in telecommunications prior to entering the sporting goods arena. He coached both his boys in soccer and basketball during their younger years. Richard also served as president of his city's local sports association. Richard attended Mississippi State University prior to relocating to Texas, which he has called home for 40 years. His wife, Laura is head of the counseling department at a local high school and is tasked with keeping Richard in line…a tall order. Richard is the head of BSN Sports' newest division focused on serving the needs of churches that utilize sports as a tool to reach people for Christ. He is blessed to serve as a deacon at Prestonwood Baptist in Plano, TX. One interesting fact is that Richard's hometown is Kosciusko, MS, which is the birthplace of Oprah and one of the few schools that have a Whippet as their mascot.  Don't be that guy.



Dr. Greg Linville

Dr. Linville is a Sports Outreach Ministry Visionary, a leading Theologian, Apologist for Sports Ministry, and a tireless Advocate for the Local Church Sports Outreach Movement. Linville’s sports ministry career began as an Urban Director for the YMCA and Young Life ministries with inner-city kids and gangs and continued as a highly successful high school and college basketball coach including receiving two Coach of the year awards for the state of Ohio athletic association. Linville’s local church sports ministry included 15 years as the Director of Sports & Recreation Outreach at an Evangelical Friends Church where he supervised the efforts of over 500 volunteers and a dozen staff and interns reaching over 2,000 people per week. Dr. Greg has served as CSRM’s Executive Director since 1999 and has long been regarded as a leading Academician in the Sports Outreach Ministry field including being awarded the world’s first Honorary Doctorate of Divinity in Sports Ministry from Briercrest Seminary as well as completing the first earned Doctorate with a concentration in Sports Outreach.

His other Academic roles include many years as a tenure-track, assistant Professor of Ministry and as an adjunct Professor at various Seminaries, Universities and Colleges in three different countries. He currently serves as the Dean of The AGON Institute of Sports Ministry and as an adjunct Professor for South African Theological Seminary (SATS) and Barclay Seminary. In addition to being an author of many articles, an editor for numerous sports ministry manuals, a contributor of chapters to various Sports Ministry books and hosting a regular CSRM blog he was chosen to write the insert/commentary for the official Olympic Bible given to all Salt Lake City Olympic athletes.

His seminal book Christmanship: A Theology of Competition and Sport was published in 2014 by Oliver House Publishing and considered by many the definitive theological foundation for the Sports Outreach Movement.  Dr. Greg is currently serving as the General Editor for the CSRM twelve book series: The Institutes of Local Church Sports Outreach. Linville is a Licensed Christian Worker through the Evangelical Friends – Eastern Region and preaches on the average of 25 Sundays per year in various churches. One little known fact about Dr. Greg is that he had a Black Bear join him one night as he rowed a boat on Lake Saranac in the Adirondack Mountains. Married since 1982 he and his wife reside in Ohio, have two married children and enjoy a growing number of grandchildren.



Matt Marsh

Matt is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas where he played high school basketball and baseball.  He received an undergraduate degree from Ouachita Baptist University and a graduate degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Matt previously served as a Sports & Fitness Associate at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta, GA and currently serves as the Community Missions Pastor at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church in Little Rock.  A big Atlanta Braves fan Marsh also spends his leisure time watching movies and spending time in the great outdoors hiking and camping.


Jay Martin

Jay is the Senior Director of Camp and Sport Outreach at Perimeter Church in Johns Creek, Ga. He and his team have a compelling passion to create highly attractive environments that discover, develop and deploy lifetime disciple makers.  They do this through a shared pursuit of becoming truly world class in bringing about mission minded transformation in their leadership development initiatives; Camp All-American and Sojourn Adventures.  He has been in full time Camping and Sports ministry for 21 years. Jay is a well-respected leader in the Sports Outreach Movement and his passion for developing Sports Outreach based on gospel-centered principles is renowned.

He has an undergraduate and graduate degree in Management from Ga. Tech.  He was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga. He played football on the 1990 Ga. Tech National Championship Team. Following his playing career he stayed on and coached with Bobby Ross and Bill Lewis. He has been married to his wife Heather for 25 years. They have 3 kids: Jacob (19), Mallory (16) and Benjamin (13). He loves to hunt, fish, camp and spend time with his family.


Justin McDonald

Justin has served in Sports and Recreation Ministry since 2006 serving churches in Texas, Johnson Ferry Baptist in Georgia, Campbellsville Baptist in Kentucky and now Geyer Springs First Baptist in Little Rock Arkansas. A former CSRM Board Member, Justin also served as an Adjunct Professor at Campbellsville University teaching classes in Sports Ministry and Theology. Justin played baseball at the University of the Cumberlands from 2003-2006. He has been married to Jessica for 11 years and has two daughters, Kathryn (7) and Eva (5). Justin is an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats and a self proclaimed Superhero nerd.


Markus McFolling

Markus is a former professional football player. He is originally from Seaside, California but currently resides in Canton, Ohio with his wife Chelsea and daughter Averie, as the two anxiously wait for the arrival of baby number 2 coming in August of 2019. Markus is actively involved both at 3rdStreet Community Church, where he serves as the Student Ministries Director, and as a Program Advisor at Tiqvah Hands of Hope a after school ministry that serves at risk youth from 1st grade to 8th, where he in charge of organizational growth and donor development. He recently graduated from Ohio Valley Adult and Teen Challenge (June 2018) and now has a passion to share his story in hopes that lives will be transformed. Due to this passion, Markus has become an influential public speaker, sharing his testimony in high schools, churches, youth conferences and detox centers, where he focuses heavily on encouraging individuals to continue their fight against addiction. He also specializes in conducting assemblies that are geared towards leaving a lasting impact, covering topics such as learning to love yourself, anti-bullying, and the power of words. Markus has many years of experience working with troubled youth and men in and around Monterey County, Stark County, Ashland County, and Mahoney Valley. He views his recent experience with addiction as a tool that will only further his work, and he desires to give back to those in need of support throughout their personal battle with addiction. Upon graduating Teen Challenge, Markus has created and launched a business called Reach1, which was born when he read the story of the lost sheep. Reach1 is an acronym that stands for Reconciling. Every. Abandoned. Child. Home. And is a platform that he uses to travels the country speaking to and reminding kids that they matter.


Shane Millard

Shane has worked in full-time vocational sports ministry for 12 years including currently serving as an Assistant Pastor in Sports and Fitness at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta, GA, where he oversees all adult and performance-based sports. Millard graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management and holds a Masters of Arts degree in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been married for 12 years to his wife, Shannon, and they have four children. Shane loves coaching and spending time with his kids.


Bob Moore

Professor of Fitness and Sport Science at Hardin-Simmons University, Abilene Texas - 23 years. Director of Religious Education at Holy Family Church - 7 years. Homeschool father of five. Doctoral degree in the College Teaching of Health and Physical Education and Master's degree in Theology. Advisor to Faith and Fitness club at Hardin-Simmons.



Rodger Oswald

Rodger is a former local church Sports Minister, Professor of Sports Ministry at The Master's University, Founding Board Member of CSRM and the International Sports Coalition, Executive Director of Church Sports International.  Rodger and his wife attend I attend Foothill Bible Church in Lincoln, CA where he serves as a deacon, a member of the church Board and teaches a Sunday school class. .




Mark Palma

Mark, with the UW Missionary Northeast Region, has 35+ years of church sports ministry at First Bible Church Rochester, NY where he leads a ministry that had 17 different sports ministries under Grace and Truth Sports Ministry.  In 2019 Mark will be training 60 High school and College Athletes in UW’s Beyond the Gold Sports Curriculum. This Series (One of Seven) emphasizes the disciplines which make a gold medal athlete successful and how similar the disciplines of the Christian life are to those same disciplines.



Stephen Ready

Stephen Ready is the Director of Camp All-American (CAA) at Perimeter Church in Johns Creek, GA. CAA is one of the largest Christian day camps in the country with 10,000 yearly participants that specializes in creating life-changing experiences for kids 5-17. Stephen's passion is to see the young children and students of CAA grow in their faith and be deployed in the community to make a Kingdom difference where they live, work/study, and play. Ready began his time at camp as a counselor in 2003 and experienced a dramatic change in his life and worldview as a result of the Lord working in and through CAA. 

Stephen has been married to his wife, Amanda, for 9 years and has three children, Gavin (7), Garrett (5), Grant (3), and Leighton (5 mos). Outside of work and family, Stephen loves to spend time tutoring high school students in Math, playing sports with friends, and working on projects around the house.




Bob Schindler

Bob is a highly respected leader within the Sports Outreach Community and one of the original Foundational Partners for REACH for whom he serves as convener.  Since 2003 Bob has served as the Director of Cede Partners, an initiative of CEDE Sports. (CEDE Sports strives to mobilize churches and chaplains through sports.) Prior to that, Bob was an Associate Pastor for eight years and a church planter and Senior Pastor for 10 years in East Tennessee. In both churches, Bob started sports ministries that served both adults and children and were the primary outreach vehicle for both churches. Before entering the ministry as a vocation, Bob played professional golf for four years and was in business for six years, in both the chemical and software industries.

Bob studied Chemical Engineering at Vanderbilt University and is currently pursuing his Masters in Religion with an emphasis in Christian Thought at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. Bob published his first book - Does God Care Who Wins? - in 2017. Bob is married to Beth, his wife of 42 years, and has seven grown children (one daughter, three sons, three daughters- in-law) and three grandchildren. The Schindlers have called New City Church home since 2003 and have been supported missionaries of the church since 2008.  Bob also leads a team that does a sports initiative at a government housing unit close to the church; leads a teaching team for an Adult SS; and teaches in a yearly leadership development class entitled Compass.



Manny Sosa

Manny and his wife Vicki are the owners and operators of Victory Academy, located in Bloomington, IL.  Victory Academy is a multi-program center offering gymnastics, tumbling, dance, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwondo. In 2007, Sosa founded the Victory Taekwondo Chung Do Kwan Association. Today, this international association serves to support commercial schools and martial arts ministry programs in the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Ghana West Africa. As an 8th Degree Black Belt, Sosa also serves as the International Department Chairman of the World Taekwondo Master's Union. In this position, he is tasked with helping standardize Taekwondo teaching curriculum according to Kukkiwon (worldwide) requirements, to conduct Black Belt promotion exams, and to unify, support, and mentor instructors.

In 2014 Grandmaster Sosa was awarded recognition by Puerto Rico’s House of Representatives for “his contribution in the making of a better quality of life”.  The Sosa’s are members of East White Oak Bible Church in Carlock, Illinois where they have they have made Taekwondo demonstrations and their goal is to be the most fantastic church member and witness they could possibly be!



Scott Tyson

Scott has been involved in sports ministry since 2002. He served as the Sports Director at Calvary Church in Charlotte, NC for 4 years and then joined with Southbrook Church in 2007 to launch Legacy Sports that organizes ministry-focused sports leagues, camps and academies in partnership with several local churches. As a charter member of CEDE Sports, he has received great encouragement and support, been mentored on a personal level, and taught how to lead a Gospel-Centered Sports Ministry. Scott is also the Athletic Director and Boys Varsity Basketball Coach at Arborbrook Christian Academy. He has a Bachelors Degree in Marketing/Management from Northwood University and then a second Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministries from Spring Arbor University. While at Northwood, Scott was a four-year starter on the Mens Baseball team. Scott has been married for 18 years and has four children. In his spare time he plays softball and basketball, enjoys running and watching movies, and is ready for the Golden State Warriors to win another championship.



Donny Varney

Donny has been deeply invested in sports ministry for the past 16 years, most notably the last 5 years as the Sports Ministry Pastor at Grace Church of Akron, OH.  The church recently finished a sports ministry vision campaign to build a sports facility to enhance and expand the church’s evangelism, leadership development, discipleship and church integration strategies. In addition to his Sports Ministry, Varney has run in 6 marathons and coached high school boys soccer for 9 years.  He has a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and a Master's Degree in Ministry.

Donny likes to write poems, drink coffee with his wife, play games with his family, sit around a bonfire with friends, workout, ask people questions, read the Bible, play putt-putt golf, eat cheese curds, and slurp his cereal. Donny's biggest passion in life is helping people identify their unique spiritual gifting and placing them in environments for success. Donny and his wife, Becky, have been married for 15 years and have 4 children ages 2-11.



Professor David Waddell

David teaches Sport and Recreation Administration at the University of Mississippi, a position he has held since 2006. Prior to teaching, he served in four different recreation and sports ministry positions for over twenty years in Texas, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.  David is also the Executive Director of the Association of Church Sports and Recreation Ministers (CSRM) where he oversees a growing international staff of 30+ who engaged in equipping over 900 local churches in 2018. David received his Bachelor of Science in Leisure Studies from Missouri State University and his Master of Religious Education with an emphasis in Church Recreation from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Waddell is the published author of three books, Characters of the Bible: Finding My Stories in Their Stories, Holiday Biblical Characters: Finding My Stories in the Stories of Christmas and Easter, and Worship Wars: The Kings Lead the Battle to Spirit and Truth. In addition, he has written for various magazines and submitted chapters for textbook consideration.  He is also a member of CSRM's Overwhelming Victory Press Editorial Team. David has presented a variety of workshop topics for Church Sports and Recreation Ministry Summits, Rec Labs, ReachGatherings, and assorted regional and local conferences. David enjoys time spent with friends and family, including his ten grandchildren.



Don Weyrick

Don has participated in various sports for most of his life including: Semi pro baseball, All American swimmer and college water polo player. Weyrick accepted Christ in 2006 and was married in 2007. Weyrick began his sports ministry career in 2010 and launched P4E in 2015. P4E is mainly an outreach ministry with 80 percent non-churched participants and has grown tremendously to include 6 leagues, 63 teams and 500 players. Don also serve on a REACHgathering committee and specifically helped to plan this year’s ‘Wrestling at REACH.’


ML Woodruff

ML attended L.S.U where he played baseball and received a Bachelor of Science in Education. He went to coach Baseball at the high school level for 30 years while never desiring to become a coach. M.L. teams at Parkview Baptist School won 11 State Championship and coached many D-1 players. He was inducted into the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 2015 . He was called into Sports ministry and became Minister of Sports Outreach at Istrouma Baptist Church in 2010 where he currently serves. He always thought God called him to coach, but realized that his calling was sports ministry and coaching was only a step to his true calling. M.L. has been transformed while being in the sports ministry. M.L.is married to Brenda and has three children and three grandchildren. M.L. loves to cook and cut grass.


Heath Woolman

Heath serves as the Next Generation Pastor of First Baptist Church of Kissimmee, Florida where he leads the leadership team for Preschool, Children, Students, College/Young Adults, Recreation, and Adult Education. He has received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Warner University, a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership from Liberty University, and a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition to serving as the NextGen Pastor, he serves on the Board of Directors for Community Vision of Osceola County and as a Trustee for the Baptist College of Florida. As a 6th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, Pastor Heath has had the privilege of using the martial arts as a form of ministry for over 25 years. He currently leads a Taekwondo ministry program at his church in Kissimmee. He has had the honor of using the martial arts as an evangelistic tool in many of the United States, Mexico, Nicaragua, Honduras, and South Korea. He holds the Class 3 International Master Instructor Certification from the Kukkiwon, is a Senior Master and the Florida Regional Director for the Victory Taekwondo Chung Do Kwan Association, and is a member of the World Taekwondo Masters Union. He married his wife, Casey, in 2011 and they have two beautiful daughters, Audrey Claire and Adeline Rose.
